Isn't a West Ham tradition to play keepers up front in dire striker emergencies?

Areola or Fabianski?

We could always play Dawson as a no.9

It's fine, if Antonio is out for 6 weeks, and Bowen don't quite recover for Thursday, we'll play what's his name up front... matey boy...

I'm going for Diop. Stick him up top, rattle a few cages, throw himself about, get on the end of a few crosses.

What a fucking shambles of a situation.

Could have done with Haller still on the books if Antonio is out on Thursday.

(I've seen what you've done on other threads with that statement, crossed yiddo son. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and all that)

Do you struggle with reading?

I’ve clearly said below I’d have him in the team. As you grow up you’ll realise just because someone can point out the positives or negatives on a subject, it doesn’t mean that they cannot acknowledge the other side.

Could be out for up to 6 weeks now. Cresswell apparently fine. Vlasic awaiting results.

Ings apparently has an appalling record against us. P12, no goals, never won.

The Villa fans weren't applauding Yarmo's goal at all as far as I can see. They were rooted to their seats. Why did Jonathan Pierce lie about this?

Antonio's overhit pass yesterday but in the right direction to stretch them, at least:

Huffers,

In hindsight, you shouldn’t have wrestled a 9 year old for Lampard’s Chelsea shirt. But you did.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa- Official Match Thread FT 2-1
I'm not blaming him. He has the power and pace to beat a player on occasions but its a big difference against 2 centre halves compared to a full back.

The management / board are to blame for why we're still struggling on with him. If he was asked to fill in occasionally, fair enough.

Arnautovic had a lot of what Antonio has to some degree but also the skill / composure. In hindsight, (in footballing terms) we should've got him back last summer but the way he mugged the club off was outrageous last time.

He has 13 goals in 30 in all games this season and would've been good for the last 30 minutes in a lot of matches.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa- Official Match Thread FT 2-1
I think we should stop comparing Antonio, he's been over played centrally and often up against two lumps. He needs to work off a fast paced striker who leads the line....he is a winger that can be devastating by drifting into the middle as well. This has ended up working against him again by swapping into another role.

Agreed, both not with it yesterday. They were overall rather satisfyingly disappointing.

Watkins and Ings were both abysmal yesterday.

In fact, Ings has been a majorly disappointing signing for Villa, all things considered.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Aston Villa- Official Match Thread FT 2-1
So you agree that clubs like Brentford and Southampton have a better option than us.

6 obvious teams, agreed. Plus 5 teams listed below. Thats 11.

Man City
Liverpool
Arsenal
Chelsea
Tottenham
Man United
Everton
Southampton
Brentford
Leicester
Wolves

Leaves 8 teams of which only 2 you're ruling out.

Aston Villa - Watkins / Ings - Both better.
Newcastle - Wilson - Better.
Leeds - Bamford - Antonio for me.
Watford - Dennis - Not seen enough of him but seems to be scoring.
Burnley - Weghorst - Antonio for me.
Brighton - Maupay - Antonio...just.
Norwich - Pukki - Antonio.
Palace - Edouard? Zaha? - I would swap Antonio for Zaha, put it that way...personality aside.

Maybe I was right...

I dont care which teams would be better with Antonio in the slightest. I care who would be better for us than him. Aside from the obvious in the top 6 i'd consider the following as better options to lead the line

DCL
Broja
Toney
Vardy
Richarlison
Jiminez

The rest as you say are 50/50 or worse than Antonio. Maupay and Pukki for me are alot worse options than him.
